Police Blotter: Scam Averted, Theft

Recent mischief in Morton Grove.

Scam Averted -ย An unknown offender called victim and identified himself as her grandson. The offender then told the victim that he was arrested and needed her to send him money for bail. The victim did not send any money and notified the police.ย

Text Message Harassment -ย Offender was sending harassing text messages to victim.

Oct. 17ย 

Theft -ย Unknown offender(s) took victimโ€™s compressor, which was being stored in a parking lot at 6100 Dempster St.

Purse Theft -ย Unknown offender(s) took the victimโ€™s purse after she had forgotten it on the counter while paying for groceries at 7900 Golf Rd.

Oct. 17ย 

Wallet Theft -ย Unknown offender(s) took the victimโ€™s wallet after he had lost it in a restaurant at 7200 Dempster St.

Oct. 18ย 

Liquor Law Violation -ย An anonymous complaint was called in regarding underage drinking at a bar at 9000 Waukegan Rd. After further investigation, two subjects were issued citations for underage drinking. The bartender and business were also cited.
