Rep. McAuliffe to Host Free Document Shredding Event
The event takes place on Saturday. Sept. 17.

State Rep. Michael McAuliffe invites residents of the 20th legislative house district to take advantage of a free document shredding event and open house on Saturday, Sept. 17.
The event is co-sponsored by Cook County Commissioner Peter Silvestri and will take place from 9 a.m. until noon at the Salvation Army, 8354 W. Foster Ave. in Norridge. Drivers will bring their vehicles up to the truck where volunteers will be available to unload documents and have them immediately shredded. Two boxes of shreddable documents will be accepted from each vehicle.
“This is an incredibly easy and quick process that will be helpful to many constituents who have documents they just don’t feel comfortable throwing away,” said Rep. McAuliffe in a news release. “It is the perfect opportunity to safely dispose of old bank statements, checks and other sensitive documents and help prevent identity theft.”
