Report Shows Increase in 911 Calls, but Not in Crime
Morton Grove Police Department says 911 calls up 50-percent.

According to a 2010 annual report, crime remained level for Morton Grove, but the police department saw a 50-percent increase in 911 calls, as reported by the Morton Grove Champion.
โFor the last couple of years, the rates for the nine crimes that the department reports to state and federal law-enforcement agencies have remained relatively level,โ Cmdr. Michael Fujara told the Champion. โFor instance, we had 68 burglaries in 2010 and 65 in 2009.โ
The nine crime categories Cmdr. Fujara was referring toย are homicide, criminal sexual assault, robbery, aggravated battery and assault, burglary, burglary to vehicle, theft, motor-vehicle theft and arson.
