Touhy Avenue Roadwork Leads to Intermittent Lane Closures

Motorists may want to navigate around an under way pavement restoration along Touhy Avenue.

NILES, IL - Roadway pavement restoration kicked off this week for a key stretch of Touhy Avenue, and local officials are urging motorists to navigate around the area until activity subsides.

The work spans Touhy Avenue between Milwaukee and Caldwell avenues. The final phase of the construction of a water main along the corridor last year, the under way restoration is slated to be finished sometime Thursday, April 20.

"There will be intermittent lane closures as the work takes place," local officials said, in a community alert. "Please allow additional time when traveling through the area."
