Youth Travel to Make Positive Impact
St. David's Episcopal Church takes Glenview area youth on mission trip to Pennsylvania.

A group of students from the nearby Glenview area recently took a week-long mission trip to Scranton, Pennsylvania to lend a helping hand to those in need.
Nine members of St. Davidโs Episcopal Church traveled to the town with a special focus on serving community members and changing lives. The group helped low-income families by painting, roofing, as well as building wheelchair ramps and new porches.
โThere's something very powerful about serving others,โ said Ashley Waldron, a youth minister at St. Davidโs.ย โWhen you have a relationship with someone in need you change and see them as real people rather than just needy.โ

The trip was made possible by St. Davidโs Episcopal Church as well as area residents and was part of Group Workcamps, which assesses the needs of low-income individuals and matches them with youth and adult volunteer groups.ย
โYou develop friendships and itโs a great chance to grow, learn about the larger world, and see the impact of service,โ Waldron said.
