Did Marks Try To "Circumvent" Ballot Process?

Former village president Eugene Marks is trying to earn a sport in Northbrook's April election in an unusual way.

Former village president Eugene Marks might not appear on Northbrook's April 9 ballot after all. 

Marks did not submit the necessary petition to appear on the April ballot, so he tried to maneuver the county clerk to conduct a primary election in Northbrook on Feb. 26 so he can earn a place on the ballot by getting votes, according to the Northbrook Star.

“It seems that while our office is very supportive of ballot access and giving candidates opportunities to be on the ballot, there is a filing process in place that Marks attempted to circumvent,” Cook County clerk spokesperson Courtney Greve told the Northbrook Star
