National Waffle Day Comes To Northbrook

August 24 is National Waffle Day and Prairie Grass Cafe is celebrating with two days of culinary waffle excitement. 

On August 24 and 25, two culinary stars from Chicago will be preparing waffles at 601 Skokie Blvd. 

Sarah Stegner and George Bumbaris will be preparing Prairie Grass Cafe's peaches and ice cream waffle, which feature the tastiest local peaches from Mick Klug Farm & Orchard, topped with a scoop of homemade vanilla bean ice cream. 


Also on the menu will be the caramel banana waffle — a fluffy Belgium-style waffle with brûléed banana and salted caramel sauce. Both items will be on the cafe's brunch menu.
