NORTHBROOK, IL—The following information comes from the Northbrook Police Department and court records as a record of incidents reported to police and those arrested on criminal charges, which represent accusations by the state that are often dropped or reduced. Anyone arrested is presumed to be innocent unless found guilty in court beyond a reasonable doubt.

August 21, 2020

SUSPICIOUS SUBJECT - 1800 block of Illinois Rd.

Complainant reported that they received a notification from their ring doorbell which showed two male white subjects attempting to open the front door of their residence. Both subjects reportedly left on foot toward Techny Prairie Park after being unsuccessful.

DUI - 400 block of Skokie Blvd.

David A. Gordon, 48, of Northbrook has been charged with improper lane usage, operating an unisured vehicle and DUI. Bond was set at $3,000.

STOLEN VEHICLE - 3200 block of Sunset Ln.

Complainant reported that unknown subject(s) took their vehicle without permission. It is believed that the vehicle keys were inside the vehicle at the time it was taken.

IDENTITY THEFT - 1800 block of Somerset Ln.

Complainant reported that they received a letter from the IDES advising that they had filed for unemployment benefits. Complainant stated that they had not registered for the benefits.

SUSPICIOUS CIRCUMSTANCES - 600 block of Anthony Trail

Complainant reported that they entered into email correspondence with a company in Dubai looking to acquire a business product. The company asked the complainant to send them their bank information in order to wire funds. Several days later, the complainant received an email stating that there was a discrepancy and that they needed to transfer money back to the company. The complainant became suspicious and did not complete the transaction. No loss was incurred.

IDENTITY THEFT - 3600 block of Pebble Beach Rd.

Complainant reported that they were alerted that a small business loan was applied for using their information. Complainant did not apply for any loan nor did they authorize anyone to use their information.

IDENTITY THEFT - 20 block of Timber Lane

Complainant reported that they received a letter from the Colorado Department of Employment Security advising that they had applied for benefits along with a debit card. Complainant has not filed for any unemployment benefits.

IDENTITY THEFT - 4100 block of Picardy Cir.

Complainant reported that they received several letters from credit agencies regarding loan applications which they did not make.

BURGLARY TO VEHICLE - 3200 block of Glenbrook

Complainant reported that unknown subject(s) entered their unlocked vehicle and removed a purse and three boxes of shoes from their vehicle.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE TO PROPERTY - 1900 block of Thornwood

Complainant reported that they found a small hole in a front window. It is believed that a small projectile caused the damage. No subject(s) were seen.

BURGLARY TO AUTO - 200 block of Chipili Dr.

Complainant reported that unknown subject(s) entered their unlocked vehicle and removed approximately $40.00 in coins.

BURGLARY TO AUTO - 200 block of Astor Pl.

Complainant reported that unknown subject(s) entered both of their unlocked vehicles which were parked in their driveway. Complainant reported that the garage door openers from both vehicles were taken, and also a pair of sunglasses were missing.

UNLAWFUL USE OF A WEAPON - 1900 block of Somerset Ln.

Officers received information that a subject who was under the influence of intoxicating compounds was in possession of a bag which possibly contained several guns. Officers were able to locate the subject and a bag, which was found to contain four handguns. The subject was transported to the police station for further investigation. The Cook County State’s Attorney’s
office approved one felony charge. Nicholas A. Stocks, 38, of Northbrook was processed and transported to court for bond.

August 26, 2020

DUI - Dundee and Hazelwood

Officer on routine patrol observed a vehicle commit a traffic violation. Officer stopped the vehicle and determined that the driver was DUI. Scott Kenik, 37, of Chicago was processed and released after posting bond.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE -1100 block of Willow Rd.

Complainant reported that unknown subject(s) scratched a window on their vehicle.

SUSPICIOUS CIRCUMSTANCES - 2200 block of Founders Dr.

Complainant reported that they received a telephone call from an unknown subject requesting payment for a service. Complainant checked records and found that the bill in question had already been paid.

CRIMINAL DEFACEMENT -2300 block of White Oak Dr.

Complainant reported that they received a phone call from a service associated with a local service agency claiming that their bill was past due. The caller stated that the complainant could pay the amount with a gift card. Complainant recognized this as a scam and did not make the purchase.

August 27, 2020

RETAIL THEFT - 1400 block of Lake Cook Rd.

Complainant reported that two unknown male subjects who were wearing facial coverings, no further description, entered the store and removed approximately 12 purses without paying for the items.

RETAIL THEFT - 100 block of Skokie Blvd.

Complainant reported that two male black subjects were observed entering the store and each grabbed five boxes of shoes, then left the store without paying for the items.
