Drunken Driver Urinates On Building Next To Police Station: Northbrook Police Blotter
The Glenview resident had been released from custody when the incident occurred, according to police.
NORTHBROOK, IL — The following information comes from the Northbrook Police Department and court records as a record of incidents reported to police and those arrested on criminal charges, which represent accusations by the state that are often dropped or reduced. Updated information may be available from the Cook County Clerk of the Circuit Court. Everyone arrested is presumed to be innocent unless found guilty in court beyond a reasonable doubt.
ARRESTS
BATTERY
Joseph G. Sommers, of Glenview, is accused of battery, and was arrested on Jan. 3 in the 900 block of Skokie Boulevard. Police said on Nov. 27, 2025, Sommers had ordered alcoholic drinks at the bar of a hotel. Sommers began to harass the bartender and grabbed her wrist when she tried to walk away. The bartender was able to quickly walk in the back kitchen when Sommers attempted to follow her. Staff intervened and Sommers left prior to the officers arriving. A court date of Feb. 6 was assigned.

DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE
Oyuntugs Enkhtur, of Glenview, is accused of leaving the scene of a property damage accident, driving under the influence, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, disorderly conduct, and was arrested at 9:33 a.m. Jan. 5, in the 2100 block of Valencia Road. According to police, Enkhtur struck a portion of a building with his 2016 blue Toyota. He then exited his car and was seen throwing rocks at the building. Enkhtur fled the area at a high rate of speed until officers were able to stop him. Enkhtur appeared intoxicated and failed the field sobriety tests. Enkhtur was arrested and brought back to the Northbrook Police Department. According to police, when he was released from custody with his traffic charges, Enkhtur walked over to a grassy area next to the police department and an adjacent apartment building. Enkhtur proceeded to urinate in view of people in the area. Enkhtur was charged with disorderly conduct and driven home. A court date of Feb. 4 was assigned.

BATTERY
Oyuntugs Enkhtur, of Glenview, is accused of aggravated battery to a victim over 60, aggravated assault, criminal trespass to residence, and was arrested at 4:38 p.m. Jan. 6, in the 2100 block of Valencia Drive. The complainant, who is familiar with Enkhtur, said on the previous day, he had come over to her residence. When she opened the door, Enkhtur reportedly pushed her against a closet door and forced his way inside. The complainant told Enkhtur to leave several times, but he refused and kept demanding his cell phone. When the officers arrived, Enkhuter could be heard threatening the complainant and refused to leave. A court date of Jan. 8 was assigned.
RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY/STALKING
Adrian Chan, of Burbank, is accused of residential burglary, stalking, and was arrested at 5:10 p.m. Jan. 6, in the 2900 block of Dundee Road. According to police, Chan was seen by an ex-partner driving several times around her house on Dec. 22, 2025. Chan had threatened the ex-partner several times as well over the phone. After the victim left the house later in the day, Chan climbed through a window at her house and rummaged through items to take. Chan left behind personal items that put him at the scene. While he was in court for other Cook County charges on Jan. 6, he was taken into custody.

INCIDENTS
BURGLARY TO VEHICLES
Northbrook police responded to three separate burglary to vehicle reports on the evening of Jan. 3. According to the complainants, their surveillance footage recorded people entering unlocked cars that were parked in front of houses. During the investigation, officers were able to recover a backpack containing Apple Airpods that was dropped in the street when the suspect fled. The same victim had their laptop computer stolen from the same vehicle. The other complainants said nothing of value was missing from their vehicles that were rummaged through.
RETAIL THEFT
The manager of a grocery store in the 1100 block of Church Road reported at 9:57 a.m. Jan. 5, a female had walked into the store and grabbed three bottles of alcohol. She reportedly hid the bottles in her purse and walked out of the store without paying. The bottles of alcohol were worth $248.97.
CRIMINAL DAMAGE TO PROPERTY
A resident in the 1900 block of Farnsworth Lane reported at 10:20 p.m. Jan. 5, someone had damaged their apartment door. After hearing suspicious sounds out in the hallway by their door, they noticed someone had cracked the edge of the door by the handle with an unknown type of tool. Officers searched the area but could not locate anyone in the hallways of the building.
STOLEN AUTO
A resident of the 3200 block of Highland Road reported at 7:01 a.m. Jan. 6, he had parked his 2018 white Audi in the driveway overnight, with the keys inside. When the complainant woke up the next morning, he noticed the vehicle had been stolen.
THEFT FROM VEHICLE
The manager of a business in the 3100 block of Dundee Road reported at 8:44 a.m. Jan. 6, someone had stolen the catalytic converter from underneath their 2020 black Nissan work van. The converter was worth $1,000.
ONLINE JOB SCAM
A Laburnum Drive resident reported on Jan. 6 they had been contacted via “WhatsApp” in April 2024 regarding a job offer to write reviews. After accepting the job, he was instructed to open a crypto account to accept his job earnings. Later in the year, he had tried to withdraw his earnings and was not able to. He was instructed to deposit money into the account to reactivate it. Over a period of time, the complainant deposited almost $400,000 into the account, which he was unable to get back. He finally realized the account and job was a scam.
ONLINE SCAM
An Ivy Lane resident reported at 5:39 p.m. Jan. 7, that he had found Bears' football tickets for sale on Facebook Marketplace. He reached out to the seller and offered to purchase the tickets. The complainant attempted to pay through the Zelle app for $125. After making the payment, he never heard from the seller, and he never received any tickets.
