Northbrook's West Park To Receive $600K Grant From OSLAD
The Northbrook Park District said the grant will be used for several renovations at the park as part of a $2 million overall project.

NORTHBROOK, IL — Last May, as they were seeking feedback from the community regarding renovations at West Park, officials from the Northbrook Park District said they were considering applying for a grant from the Illinois Department of Natural Resources. Fast-forward to this week, as they've found out they are getting one.
The grant, through the Open Space Lands Acquisition and Development, is for $600,000. It will be used for several renovations at the popular park at 1730 Pfingsten Road, located behind the Northbrook Sports Center. The total cost of the project is estimated to be between $2 million and $2.2 million.
"This park provides 24 acres of open space and recreational amenities for the Northbrook community," Northbrook Park District Executive Director Chris Leiner said. "The renovations and amenity additions made possible by this grant will ensure West Park remains an integral and accessible community location for recreation and outdoor enjoyment for generations to come."
