Public Urination, Soccer Dispute, Stolen Brace: Northbrook PD Blotter
Northbrook police officers made a number of arrests and handled a variety of criminal complaints including stolen bottles of alcohol.
NORTHBROOK, IL — The Northbrook Police Department made a number of arrests over the past week involving a variety of criminal charges, officials announced on Friday.
Local residents are reminded that criminal charges do not equate to a guilty finding and that all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.

Jose Ibarra, South Holland, was arrested at 9:11 p.m. on June 2 and charged with disorderly conduct after several people called the police to complain about Ibarra urinating in public. Officers found him nearby his vehicle and was continuing to urinate when officers approached him. He is due in court on July 20.
Maksat Babayev, Wheeling, was arrested at 12:14 a.m. on June 4 and charged with battery after police said that he became involved in an argument with another person while playing soccer. Police said that the suspect pushed the victim twice and was charged with battery.

Eleanor Graver, Gurnee, was charged with retail theft after she was found to have clothing and accessories concealed in her purse and attempted to leave a business in the 100 block of Skokie Boulevard without paying.
INCIDENTS
CRIMINAL DAMAGE TO A VEHICLE
A resident in the 1000 block of Enfield Drive reported that someone slashed a tire on his 2011 Honda Accord. Police said the blade used in the incident was still in the tire when they arrived.
COMMERCIAL BURGLARY
A witness called the police after noticing a broken window at a liquor store in the 800 block of Sanders Road. When officers arrived, they noticed that several bottles of beverages were missing. Surveillance footage showed two people inside the business and leaving with the beverages.
CRIMINAL DEFACEMENT
Staff at the Northbrook Park District reported that someone painted graffiti on a park gazebo in the 1800 block of Walters Avenue.
ATTEMPTED RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY
A resident in the 2300 block of Salceda Drive called the police to report several pry marks on her sliding glass door but said that no break-in took place.
RETAIL THEFT
The manager of a store in the 1500 block of Lake Cook Road reported that an expensive handbag and purse had been stolen from a display. Surveillance video showed two people entering the business and leaving with the merchandise.
The manager of a business in the 900 block of Willow Road entered the store and placed 10 bottles of alcohol in their backpack and left the store without paying.
The staff at a grocery store in the 1100 block of Church Street said a customer became nervous when staff members saw him place several bottles into a plastic bag. The person put the bottles back on the shelf and quickly left the store. However, the person grabbed a bottle of alcohol on his way out of the store and left without paying.
THEFT
A person in the 900 block of Skokie Boulevard said an unknown person stole the medical brace he uses for scoliosis.
