Shirley Weinberg Died at 89, Funeral Sunday
Weinberg is survived by family in Northbrook and Evanston.

The following obituary was provided by Chicago Jewish Funerals.
Shirley Weinberg, 89, a long-time Chicago resident with family in Northbrook and Evanston, died on Saturday, Aug. 3.
Shirley was born on June 16, 1924 in Augusta, GA and was a true Georgia peach who maintained her southern accent all her life. Shirley was an only child of her devoted mother Catherine Klion and was also raised and influenced well by her “Bubbe” Molly.
Shirley had a zest for life that was second to none and was a loving person with special bonds with her family and many friends. Shirley married Harold Levine and raised three children in Clarksdale, MS. Sadly, Shirley’s first husband died in 1960 and she married Bob Weinberg and moved to Chicago.
Bob brought laughter back to Shirley’s life and she enjoyed a second wind of life filled with a wonderful marriage, friends and family.
Shirley was a natural leader who served as a president of Hadassah. Shirley worked hard all her life in several sales positions, and eventually worked with Bob in a family business for many years.
Shirley did it all. She took care of her family, she worked hard and she enjoyed a good life. Shirley embraced every day with a smile and made the most of every day. Shirley was a positive, loving person who will be missed by many.
Shirley is survived by her five children Dr. Michael (Sue Farley) Levine, Rochelle (Murray) Engle, Anne (Hassan Virji) Weinberg, Susan (Barry) Brooks, and Jimmy (Linique) Weinberg; along with her nine grandchildren; and five great grandchildren who will keep the loving memory of Shirley Weinberg alive in their hearts forever.
Services will be held on Sunday, August 11 at 1pm at Chicago Jewish Funerals Chapel, 195 N. Buffalo Grove Rd. (one block north of Lake Cook Rd.) in Buffalo Grove, IL. Interment Zion Gardens.
