Trustees Hope to Ensure No Fast Food at Dundee and Hazelwood

A 2006 proposal to put a McDonald's there drew intense ire from neighbors.

Hoping to avoid the ire that Northbrook trustees faced in 2006 over a proposed McDonald’s at 2900 Dundee Road, they are looking to ensure that the expansion of the current business there can never lead to fast food, according to an article in the Northbrook Star.

The State Farm office that is currently there wants to expand into a new, bigger building that would include space for a tenant or two, the article says. At a recent meeting, trustees discussed ways to grant that zoning change without opening the door to fast food in the future.
