NORTHBROOK, IL — With work on Shermer Road expected to continue throughout the fall, the Village of Northbrook recently provided an update to parents and students at Glenbrook North High School and Maple School regarding how it could impact them.

Traffic Delays and Lane Closures:

  • Significant impacts to traffic are expected while the contractor is performing construction. Though drivers will always be able to access at least one lane of traffic, the outside lanes of Shermer Road will be closed.
  • The entrances to both schools will remain open to traffic. Additionally, the east sidewalk along Shermer Road will be closed to pedestrian traffic while a new sidepath is being constructed.
  • Parents and students should use caution when traveling through the construction zone.
