Finding Work When There Are No Jobs: Expert to Speak at Sulzer Library

A local author is helping Lincoln Square and Northcenter residents find work in a difficult time. See his tips for changing your career.

Stop networking, one local expert says.

Resumes and job-finding websites are no longer the key to finding a job a city where unemployment is more than 10 percent.  

Ward 47 resident Roger Wright is the author of Finding Work When There Are No Jobs, a book that takes an innovate route to starting another career. Rather than a one-size-fits-all prescription for finding jobs, he strays from the current system altogether.

“This book isn’t written for the masses,” he says. “It’s written for the individual.”

The goal?  To prompt each individual to chart his or her own unique path to finding work.

That’s easier said than done. But to help local residents, Wright will be at Sulzer Regional Library Aug. 15 leading a session on finding work in a downturned economy. 

The presentation begins at 7 p.m. where Wright will outline five principals that can lead to finding work.
