Help North Center's Chicago Mosaic School Create Ward 47 Art

Ward 27 is partnering with the Chicago Mosaic School to create a piece of art to honor the area's older adults.

North Center senior citizens can help create a piece of art that will last in the neighborhood for years to come.

Ward 47 Ald. Ameya Pawar’s office is partnering with the Chicago Mosaic School to honor the area's senior citizens. The school is designing a 2-foot by 3-foot mosaic that will either be on display, or travel throughout the ward.

The school is also inviting older adults to help with the piece. Seniors can come in two-hour shifts on Saturday and Sunday in the studio at 1800 West Cuyler.

No experience is necessary, said Dara Salk with the Ward 47 office, and interested participants should email her (dara@chicago47.org) to schedule a time to help.

When the piece is done, the school will host an opening reception on Nov. 8 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Dolce Casa Café (4947 N. Damen Avenue).
