Ravenswood Mattress Changing Location, Hosting Liquidation Sale
Owners say the business has lost its lease and is looking for a new home.
A local mattress store is selling off its merchandise in preparation of moving the business.
The owners of Ravenswood Mattress, at 4115 N. Ravenswood Ave. near Berteau, announced the business lost its lease and will be leaving its current location.
But local furniture collectors can fear not. Owner Pat Mahoney said he'd like to stay in the Ravenswood and Northcenter area. A firm location has yet to be determined, but the business might move into a temporary space before finding one.
To make the move easier, Mahoney is liquidating all merchandise. Floor samples are 40 to 70 percent off and everything else is 35-50 percent off.
Mahoney said furniture disappeared so quickly, he's had to order more before the store closes by Labor Day.
"Some 50 pieces came in today, but last Friday, we had merchandise stacked to the ceiling and by Sunday morning, it was gone," he said.
Ravenswood Mattress has been at the location since January 2012 and is open Monday through Friday, 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday 12 to 5 p.m.
