CHICAGO: Rogers Park resident Kirsten Leslie will be performing in the upcoming Mother’s Day Concert on Sunday, May 12 at 12:00 PM.
Kirsten Leslie and her soprano trio Très Belle will be performing a selection of will be performing a selection of music celebrating mothering and motherhood in their many forms, with a focus on operatic and showtune styles. The afternoon will be filled with songs and melodies sure to warm concert goers hearts as they enjoy the holiday.
The family-friendly concert takes place on Sunday, May 12 at noon at Concordia Church: 3855 N. Seeley Ave., Chicago. Tickets are not required, but an rsvp through Concordia’s website is encouraged.
The Très Belle soprano trio consists of sopranos Kimberly Jones, Marisa Buchheit, and Kirsten Leslie. The long-time friends are active solo performers who successfully debuted as a trio in January 2014 and have performed on the classical music scene throughout the Midwest ever since. They have taken their talents to venues such as PianoForte Chicago, the Sunday Salon Series of the Chicago Cultural Center, the Ravinia Music Festival, and more. On May 12, they can add this special Mother’s Day concert at Concordia Church to that list!

Kirsten Leslie has performed nationally and internationally as both singer and actress. Her repertoire is quite diverse and includes roles in opera & operetta such as Gilda in Rigoletto and Rosalinde in Die Fledermaus; contemporary opera such as the “Flier” (Amelia Earhart) in Daron Hagen’s Amelia and Orquidea in Daniel Catan’s Salsipuedes; musical theatre such as Anne in A Little Night Music, Maria in West Side Story, Magnolia in Showboat and Carrie in Carousel; and straight theatre such as Imogen in Shakespeare’s Cymbeline.
Leslie was a Metropolitan Opera Competition District Winner; and has toured as a soloist throughout Italy, Holland, Austria, Germany and the Czech Republic. She has a Master’s in Vocal Pedagogy and Performance from the Moores School of Music at the University of Houston and a BFA in Musical Theatre Performance from the University of Michigan. Currently she is an international freelance artist and teaches private voice and piano. Audiences can enjoy seeing her perform live in soprano trio Très Belle on May 12 at Concordia Church.
