Rogers Park Resident Performing at Christmas Spectacular Concert at Concordia with Lakeshore Brass

CHICAGO: Rogers Park Resident Jered Montgomery is one-fifth of the Lakeshore Brass quintet that will be performing at the upcoming Christmas Spectacular Concert on Friday, Dec. 13 at 7:00 PM.

For an entry donation of $40 for adults and $15 for youth (21 and under), audiences will experience an afternoon of Christmas melodies sure to put them in the spirit of the season. Concertgoers can expect to hear the wonderful tunes of Christmas classics as well as fun songs of the season with a fresh twist. This concert is one that the whole family won’t want to miss.
The family-friendly concert takes place on Friday, Dec. 13 at 7:00 PM at Concordia Church: 3855 N. Seeley Ave., Chicago. Tickets can be purchased at concordiafaith.org/concerts.

Jered Montgomery is honored and excited to be the newest member of the Lakeshore Brass. Hailing from Mulkeytown, IL (population 128), Jered loves Chicago’s vibrant music scene. Working from the theater (Goodman, Porchlight, BoHo, Kokandy & Theo), to the orchestra (Chicago Composers Orchestra, Skokie Valley Symphony) and in several commercial groups (Hey Jimmy, Music City AllStars, Sin Genero, & Chicago Samba), Montgomery’s musical palette is diverse, experienced and spicy—all attributes he cheerfully brings to the Lakeshore Brass. Jered is Associate Professor of Humanities at Morton College, and resides in Rogers Park with his tuxedo cat, Dion.

Lakeshore Brass is a brass quintet born from the vibrant music scene of Chicago, where each member has soaked up the city’s rich musical traditions. David Nakazono, Jered Montgomery, Fiona Chisholm, Matt Flanagan, and Keith Polito each received their musical training from members of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra.

Throughout their journey, Lakeshore Brass has been dedicated to creating meaningful connections through music. They believe that music serves as a bridge, fostering connections between humans and the natural world, between individuals, and within ourselves. As they continue to explore these connections, Lakeshore Brass remains committed to sharing the transformative power of music wherever they go.
