Thousands Vote Early in North Center at Welles Park

Early voting wrapped up Saturday in preparation for Tuesday's big election, and thousands flocked to the area’s designated station to cast their ballot before the rush on the main day.

As of Friday, 4,452 people headed to the Welles Park at 2333 W. Sunnyside Ave and voted early. That’s the 11th highest early voter turnout compared to the other wards in Chicago, with the 19^th district – which covers the Beverly neighborhood on the South Side – coming in first place.  

And North Center apparently got in gear to vote. The last time Patch checked the early voting counts, the are was sitting in 20th place. 

The last day for early voting was Saturday, according to the Chicago Board of Election Commissioners website, where voters could use any early voting site in the city.

44th Ward - Merlo Library, 644 W. Belmont Ave. Hours: Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

46th Ward - Truman College, 1145 W. Wilson Ave. Hours: Monday thrrough Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

32nd Ward - Bucktown-Wicker Park Library, 1701 N. Milwaukee Ave. Hours: Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. 

47th Ward - Welles Park, 2333 West Sunnyside Avenue
Hours: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday and on Sundays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
