Zoo Officials Urge Supportive Residents to Adopt Swan Cygnets
Looking for a way to help the Lincoln Park Zoo? Consider adopting a cygnet!
It’s not quite “Swan Lake”, but the Lincoln Park Zoo's Hope B. McCormick Swan Pond is currently staging a graceful performance of its own.
Six trumpeter swan cygnets, hatched earlier this month, will spend the summer there growing under the protective eyes of mom and dad before being reintroduced to the wild as part of a long-running restoration partnership.
The swans are the first hatches for this species at the zoo since 2009, officials have said.
Those wanting to support the new family can now opt to buy a special ADOPT gift package.
