Man, 23, And Woman, 26, Killed In I-57 Rollover Crash: State Police

POSEN, IL — Two people were killed Monday afternoon in a crash on I-57 and 147th Street, Illinois State police said.

State police were called at 1:15 p.m. for a rollover crash on 1-57 northbound, state police said. The driver and passenger of the vehicle were pronounced dead at the scene, state police said. They were identified as Tony Haywood, 23, and Jayla Covington, 25, both of Chicago, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner.

Several northbound lanes remained shutdown while police investigated late Monday afternoon. Lanes reopened around 5:15 p.m.

State police are investigating the crash.
