What Should Go Here? Deserted Bar Del Rock's
This week, Patch asks readers about DelRock's. Although the prime location has been several bars over the years, no business has been able to sustain success. So we ask: What Should Go Here?
It's been a '50s bar, the Wild Olive and most recently Del Rock's, but the owners of those businesses have all found staying afloat difficult, despite a prime location at the corner of 159th Street and Laramie Avenue.
Del Rock's closed several years ago, and by now, there are likely several minor code violations that would need to be fixed on the exterior. One major step needs to be taken before any business could reopen the location.
"It's at the point now where, maybe, there's some code violations on the exterior, but it's not to the point the will get involved," he said. "The fire department requires that a sprinkler be installed and I think the landlord is just letting it go. It might actually be cheaper for him to just leave it alone."

Dotson added that though the city would "love" to see somebody take over the business, it is out of the city's hands.
While the space does still have an owner, let us know what you think should go there.
