Man, 58, ID'd As Semi Driver In Fatal Rollover Crash: Medical Examiner
The crash happened at 4:30 a.m. Tuesday on I-80 eastbound and Kedzie Avenue in Hazel Crest.
HAZEL CREST, IL — The semi driver in a fatal rollover crash early Tuesday has been identified as a 58-year-old man.
Craig Simester, of Rock Falls, Illinois, was killed Tuesday in the single-vehicle semi crash on I-80 Eastbound in Hazel Crest, according to Cook County Medical Examiner records. Simester was driving near Kedzie Avenue, when the semi reportedly left the road, careened down an embankment and overturned onto Kedzie Avenue, state police said.
Simester was the sole occupant of the vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Family have started a GoFundMe for Simester's family, describing him as "witty, a jokester and a huge prankster," according to the fundraiser.
"If you were ever lucky enough to get him really laughing, you couldn’t help but laugh too because it was surely contagious."

Simester loved his job as a truck driver.
"Craig loved driving his truck," the fundraiser reads. "That was his true passion."
