A man who was inside when a fire ignited the outside of his Oak Forest home managed to escape unharmed Thursday night, a fire official said.
The blaze that burned a single-family house in the 16700 block of South Lockwood remains under investigation. No one was harmed in the fire.
Crews contained the fire within 10 minutes of arriving at around 11 p.m., the official said. A neighbor from the nearby Forest View Farm alerted the man to the fire.
