Martin Luther King Day 2018: What's Open, Closed In Oak Forest

OAK FOREST, IL — The country honors the life and achievements of civil rights leader Martin Luther King Jr. with a national holiday in his name Monday, Jan. 15.
Although it's a federal holiday, most retail businesses around Oak Forest will be open. But it's always idea to call ahead and check.
Here's a look at how Martin Luther King Jr. Day will affect institutions and services around the city:

Schools: No classes for Forest Ridge Elementary School District 142, Arbor Park School District 145, Community Consolidated School District 146, Bremen High School District 228 and Consolidated School District 230.
City Government: Village Hall and village offices will be closed. County, state and federal government offices will be closed, too.

Frankfort Public Library: The library will be open during its regular hours.
Postal Service: No mail delivery, and all post offices will be closed.
Banks: Most financial institutions will be closed. Call ahead to be sure.
Trash Pickup: Garbage pickup will continue as normal Monday and throughout the week.
