Frankfort police said Townsend had an ongoing sexual relationship with a girl who was under the age of consent. Police would not release any further details in the case because of the age of the girl involved.
Authorities were notified after the girl's parents found out about the relationship, police said. Townsend was booked in to Will County Jail on April 1. Bail was set at $40,000. He was released on April 3.
