Oak Forest Crashes Damage 3 Cook County Sheriff's Vehicles

The 2nd accident Saturday happened while officers were responding to the 1st incident involving a deputy.

OAK FOREST, IL β€” No one was seriously hurt in two car crashes Saturday involving Cook County sheriff's vehicles. Three of the law enforcement agency's vehicles were damaged in the accidents, according to the Daily Southtown.

The first crash happened at around 10:57 p.m. Saturday, May 12, at 159th Street and Ridgeland Avenue, the report stated. That's when a car hit a sheriff's deputy's vehicle, although the officer wasn't in it at the time, the report added.

The accident brought two more sheriff's units to the scene, the report stated. After they arrived, another car slammed into one of parked sheriff's vehicles, causing a chain reaction and sending it into the other car, the report added.

Both of the civilian drivers were cited for their roles in the accidents, the report stated.
