Oak Forest Mom Is 'A Wonderful, Special Person With A Huge Heart'

OAK FOREST, IL— Moms do so much for everyone around them. We try to celebrate them all year long, but Mother's Day is a perfect opportunity to shout it from the rooftops and post it on Patch: Mom rocks!

Here at Patch we've launched an initiative to help recognize the awesome moms and mom figures in communities like yours.

What makes your Mom extra special?

My mom is incredible. I am a Special Needs child. Every day she has to take me to doctor, therapy appointments and every sport I am in for Special Olympics. She puts everyone else’s needs before her own. She has postponed doctor appointments and surgery for herself to take care of others. She volunteers whenever or wherever there’s a need. And she is constantly fighting to make sure I get all the services or treatments necessary. She always goes above and beyond for everything she does ... She is a wonderful, special person with a huge heart. I love my mom very much. 💞

Why do you feel your Mom deserves the spotlight?

Despite having her own health issues, she makes sure I get to everything I need to even if she’s not feeling well. And it seems like she is constantly fighting for programs or services for me.
