Serial Bank Robber Hits Oak Forest Bank

The suspect hit First Secure Bank and may have robbed banks in Oak Forest and Tinley in June. The FBI is offering an award for his arrest.

OAK FOREST, IL — Police are on the lookout for a serial bank robber who hit an Oak Forest bank Monday afternoon.

The suspect robbed the First Secure Bank at 15901 Central Avenue at 3:29 p.m., the FBI said. He is also believed to have hit another bank in Oak Forest and one in Tinley Park in June. He has been known to wear a white, bucket-style hat, a black sweater, and black pants. He also has fled the scene in a silver, mid-2000s model Nissan Versa.

The suspect is described as a black man in his mid- to late 40s, about 5 feet 6 inches to 5 feet 8 inches tallwith medium build.

The FBI is offering a reward of up to $1,000 for information leading directly to his arrest. He is considered armed and dangerous.

  • A bank robbery on May 23, 2019, at 4:30 p.m., at the US Bank located at 11960 South Western Avenue in Blue Island, Illinois.
  • A bank robbery on May 28, 2019, at 2:28 p.m., at the BMO Harris Bank located at 4050 147th Street in Midlothian, Illinois.
  • A bank robbery on May 31, 2019, at 2:42 p.m., at the BMO Harris Bank located at 4940 West 211th Street in Matteson, Illinois.
  • An attempted bank robbery on June 17, 2019, at the Marquette Bank located at 5700 West 159th Street in Oak Forest, Illinois.
  • A bank robbery on June 18, 2019, at 2:43 p.m., at the Fifth Third Bank located at 18299 South Harlem Avenue in Tinley Park, Illinois.
