OAK LAWN, IL — Thirty-six students from the Oak Lawn Community High School graduating class of 2026-2027 have been designated as Illinois State Scholars.

The Illinois Student Assistance Commission, the state’s college access and financial aid agency, confers this important recognition of academic achievement to exceptional Illinois high school students annually. This year, more than 19,200 honorees join the other outstanding students who have been honored since the designation was first introduced in 1958.

“I am very proud of our Spartan seniors who were named Illinois State Scholars,” OLCHS principal Dr. Lauren May said. “I look forward to celebrating them this Spring. Their academic achievements are a testament to their hard work and dedication.”
