Boys Bowler Justin Canvan Oak Lawn Athlete of The Month

Oak Lawn Community High School boys bowler Justin Canvan has led the team with consistency as the Spartans head into the IHSA Regionals.

OAK LAWN, IL — In 33 games during the month of December, Oak Lawn Community High School boys bowler Justin Canvan has been lights out on the lanes. He averaged a team-high 218 pins per game and only had seven games below 200 pins. He was instrumental in the Spartans winning all three tournaments they bowled for the month.

Canvan won Individual Top 10 medals for all three invitationals. At the TF North Invite he was the second-place finisher, at the Tinley Park Invite he was the Individual Champion, and at the Brother Rice Finals Fling he was the eighth-place medalist.

Next up for Oak Lawn is the South Suburban Conference meet, and then onto the Illinois High School Association Regional meet.

“Good luck this postseason, Justin,” OLCHS boys bowling coach Kevin Walery said.
