CCHS Knights Basketball Team Advances to IHSA Class 2A Regional Finals

The CCHS Knights basketball team has been on a charge, and they showed their strength and unity in their impressive 65-38 victory over Carver Military Academy in the IHSA Class 2A Regional Quarterfinals. This decisive win propelled them to the Regional Semifinals, where they squared off against the Wilmington Wildcats on Wednesday, February 26th. Once again, the Knights proved their dominance, securing a hard-fought 58-47 win, advancing further in the tournament.

When asked about his team's performance, Coach Kevin Pittman was very pleased. "This group works so well together and plays so hard. They are a lot of fun to be around and they get along really well," he shared. His pride in the team was evident as he praised their collective effort. "Casey Lenarz had a big game for us with 21 points, and Isaac Heerdt chipped in 14 with some big baskets down the stretch. Kerry Teague hit some big free throws for us late that put the game out of reach. I am really proud of this team."

The Knights' success isn’t just about individual performances; it’s about their chemistry as a team. Their bond on and off the court has been a driving force behind their strong showing in the regular season and post-season. With each game, they demonstrate an unshakeable determination and a collective drive that has made them one of the most exciting teams to watch in the Class 2A regional games.
