Employee Argument Escalates In Gunfire At Bridgeview Business: Police

Two employees of Filta Environmental Kitchen Solutions were brandishing guns outside the business before the shooting occurred, police said.

BRIDGEVIEW, IL — An argument between two men escalated into gunfire Tuesday morning at a Bridgeview business. Both worked for the same company.

Around 11:50 a.m., Bridgeview police responded to a report of gunfire at Filta Environmental Kitchen Solutions, 8900 S. Octavia Ave. According to police, an argument ensued between two employees. One employee discharged his weapon, striking the other, police said.

The employee was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn in critical but stable condition. The other employee remained on the scene, police said.

The alleged shooter was taken to the Bridgeview police station for questioning. Police at this time are trying to determine who was the aggressor as the investigation continues.

Chief Rick Mancha, of the Bridgeview Police Department, told Patch that there were five to six people who witnessed the shooting outside the building. Both employees were said to be brandishing guns before the shooting occurred.
