Fire Tears Through Apartment Building In Justice, Dozens Displaced
The blaze started in a third-floor unit, causing the roof and second floor to collapse, Justice fire officials said.
JUSTICE, IL — A fire tore through an apartment building Saturday in Justice, displacing dozens of people. Firefighters spent hours battling the blaze, according to news reports.
The blaze broke out in a third-floor unit of an apartment building in the 8500 block of South 88th Terrace.
Roberts Park Fire Protection District Chief Jeffrey Ketchen said the roof and second floor collapsed. Firefighters remained on the scene for seven hours as they worked to strike the fire.

The building sustained heavy fire and smoke damage, rendering it uninhabitable. A total of 16 units were destroyed.
This is the third fire to break out at an apartment building in the local area. In December, a fire ravaged a multi-dwelling unit in Crestwood.
