Historic Win: Knights Rise Up as CCHS Class 2A State Football Champs

Chicago Christian Knights capped off a historic season in spectacular fashion, dominating Maroa-Forsyth 47-0 to claim their first-ever Class 2A state championship at Illinois State's Hancock Stadium! This thrilling victory marked the pinnacle of a season that will forever be etched in the school's legacy.

All eyes were on Maroa-Forsyth's high-powered offense, but the Knights' defense proved unfathomable. Chicago Christian's relentless defense smothered the Trojans, limiting them to a staggering 23 total yards and completely shutting down any chance of an offensive rhythm.

From the opening kickoff, the Knights seized control. Kenny Jager burst through for an early touchdown run to put Chicago Christian on the board. Christian Flutman followed suit with another touchdown run late in the first quarter, pushing the lead further.

The game’s turning point came just before the break. Flutman’s pass was tipped, seemingly heading for an interception, but in a moment of pure magic, Niko Griggs snagged the ricochet and sprinted into the end zone, extending the Knights’ lead to a commanding 21-0.

The second half was more of the same, as Chicago Christian piled on a few more touchdowns, cruising to an unforgettable 47-0 victory.

With this momentous win, Chicago Christian claimed their first-ever state championship in football, forever marking their place in school history!
