'Isn't She Lovely:' Baby Winona First Baby Born in 2026 At Advocate Christ Medical Center

Olivia Gorney and Ryan LaCount, of Chicago, welcomed their little girl, who was born 12:50 a.m. Jan. 1 at Advocate Christ Medical Center.

CHICAGO – Get this girl some guitar lessons! Baby Winona LaCount was the first baby of 2026 to make her debut at Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn. With a name like Winona, we think she’s destined to be a country western star.

Baby Winona was born at 12:50 a.m. Jan. 1, 2026. She is the first child of Olivia Gorney and Ryan LaCount of Chicago. Winona clocked in at 10 pounds, 6 ounces and 22.5 inches long.

“We’re deeply honored by the trust families place in us during life’s most special moments,” Dr. Frank Belmonte said in a news release, senior vice president, Women and Children's service line at Advocate Health. “We are so proud to continuously provide safe, high-quality care to families throughout our community, and welcoming the first baby of the year is always a fun and special milestone for our team.”

As you can probably imagine, the parents of baby Winona would like time with their growing family and are not doing interviews at this time.

The first baby boy of 2026 born at Advocate Christ is Noah Robert Garcia. He was born at 3:43 a.m., weighing 7 pounds, 3 ounces and 20 inches long to parents Gino Garcia and Samantha Scuito of Joliet. A photo wasn't available.

Both babies are among the first children to be born in the new year in Chicagoland.
