Oak Lawn Diver Cohen Laylo Named January Male Athlete Of The Month

OAK LAWN, IL — Oak Lawn Community High School senior Cohen Laylo found gold in the month of January. Diving with great confidence, he finished first at the Argo Dive Invitational, and he took first at the Spartan Invitational. In addition, he took first place in each of the four regular season meets in January. Now he has been named as the Male Spartan Athlete of the Month.

The first-place finishes were impressive, but the way in which he earned them was even more impressive. At the Spartan Invite, Laylo set a new school record in the 11-dive event with 508 points. The previous record was 449. He also set a new six-dive pool record at Argo in a dual meet against the Argonauts.

It has certainly been a month to remember for this Spartan.
