Oak Lawn Girls Wrestler Nataly Romero Opens Season Undefeated 'By Way Of The Pin'

OAK LAWN, IL — Despite being a part of the speech team and a vocal leader of the Oak Lawn Community High School girls wrestling team, Nataly Romero is instead choosing to let her skills on the mat do all the talking. Opening the year with an undefeated record, all by way of pin, Romero is aiming for even more success than she achieved last season.

“Nataly had a successful season last year but has emerged as a leader this season by setting an example through unquestioned work ethic in the practice room,” OLCHS head coach Matt Arthur said. “She is a phenomenal vocal leader and leads by example on a daily basis. Nataly has a charismatic personality that everybody enjoys being around, she and brings out the best in her peers and practice partners.

“She is excelling in academics and wrestling but also competes with the speech team. Her ability to balance all three of these activities at a high level needs to be commended. She is always ‘locked in’ and fears not opponent—expecting victory every time she steps on the mat.”
