Most 'Sincere' Pumpkin Patch Rolls Out At Oak Lawn's 'Pumpkin Church, Open Til Halloween
Make some memories at the First United Methodist Church pumpkin patch in Oak Lawn. The patch is open daily through Halloween.
OAK LAWN, IL — Keep your eyes peeled for pumpkins to start arriving for the 15th annual First United Methodist Church of Oak Lawn pumpkin patch, which has deservedly earned its nickname as the “Pumpkin Church,” at 100th Street and Central Avenue.
The pumpkins are due to arrive this weekend, when members of the Richards High School ROTC will bucket-brigade them off the truck and roll the pumpkins out across the church lawn. Pumpkins and other fall decor will go on sale Sunday, Oct. 12.
The most sincere pumpkin patch in the south suburbs will be open daily from 11 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Saturday, and noon to 6:30 p.m. Sunday. Hundreds of pumpkins and gourds of all shapes, colors, sizes, colors, bumps and warts are available for your Halloween display and fall decor.

The Pumpkin Church’s 15th annual pumpkin patch exceeds last year’s adorable-ness level, featuring tractor rides for $1, autumnal backdrops for family pictures, and a scavenger hunt. Make some memories with your kids and grandkids by building a scarecrow for $15.
Visit the Halloween and Christmas gift and decor tent, with homemade baked goods for purchase, including Dawn’s amazing pumpkin bread.

Returning by popular demand is the costume tent where kids can try on Halloween getups for pictures among the gourds, pumpkins, hay bales and fall leaves. Tire out your preschooler by picking out a pumpkin before the afternoon nap.
Other events are also planned for October at First United Methodist Church of Oak Lawn during the pumpkin patch, including:
- Craft and Wellness fair, and blood drive(call church for times), 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 18
- Vendor craft fair, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 25
- Trunk or Treat, Sunday, Oct. 26
