Simmons Jr. Muslim Student Association Stocks Food Pantry For Ramadan
Simmons Middle School students team up with OLCHS and Richards MSA groups to collect food items for the Mosque Foundation food pantry.
OAK LAWN, IL — Simmons Middle School helped stock the Mosque Foundation food pantry in preparation for Ramandan, which begins Feb. 28.
The Junior Muslim Student Association held a food drive where classmates brought in 690 non-perishable food items. Stocking the pantry for Ramadan month was the club members’ idea.
“Together we can lift each other up, especially when it comes to food,” JrMSA leaders Khadijah Khan and Yosra Saleh said. “We are very proud of our school for supporting one another, and very proud of our school for allowing us to be seen and heard.”
