OAK LAWN, IL — Oak Lawn Community High School’s varsity cheerleading team has advanced to the ICCA Championships that are being held Saturday, Jan. 11, in Springfield.

The Oak Lawn cheer team placed second at the recent Wilmington Cheer Invite. The qualifying score for the ICCA Championship was set higher this year, and the Spartan Varsity Cheer squad crushed it.

“Their performance was spot on, their energy high, and their determination was unstoppable,” said OLCHS head coach Maria Vanderwarren said. “The theme of the routine was a collaboration of music from the movie ‘The Greatest Showman.’ That is exactly what varsity did. They delivered the ‘Greatest Show.’”
