Troop 618 And Pack 3618 Make A Difference: Patch Local Heroes

OAK LAWN, IL — When times are tough, heroes emerge. We all know someone who's making a difference right now as we live through unprecedented times. Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize these everyday heroes.

This submission comes from Glen Ritter, of Oak Lawn, who nominated the members of BSA Troop 618 and Pack 3618.

Volunteer for Scouts BSA and Cub Scouts

Why do you believe the nominee should be recognized or honored?

The hospital workers are to be honored, Scouts collected and made up 60 care packages for staff at Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn.

What’s one thing you want everyone to know about your hero?:

The Scouts came up with the idea in one of their virtual troop meeting the idea of honoring our local healthcare workers. Each decorated bag has a "World’s Finest" chocolate bar, Granola bars, trail mix, Rice Krispie treat, gold fish crackers, bottle of water, a pack of microwave popcorn and personal thank-you letter. Troop 618 and Cub Scout Pack 3618 is out of Trinity Lutheran Church in Oak Lawn.
