How Much Earlier Will Darkness Fall on Sunday?
And what time will the sun rise? Here's a handy chart. DON'T FORGET: Turn your clocks back one hour before you turn in tonight.
As we “fall back” into Standard Time this weekend, you’ll be able to sleep in for an extra hour. Daylight Saving Time ends at 2 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 1, which means you’ll want to turn your old-school clocks back before you go to bed. The change is automatic for most smartphones, computers, tablets and other digital devices.
Sunrise will be about an hour earlier — 6:23 a.m. to be precise — and there will be more light in the mornings, but the change also means sunset will be at 4:45 p.m. on Nov. 1 in the Chicago area.
The amount of daylight in our days will get progressively shorter, too, up until Christmas Eve. And sunset will get earlier through mid-December.
Daylight Saving Time is the practice of setting the clocks forward one hour from Standard Time during the summer months, and back again in the fall, in order to make better use of natural daylight.
