4 Dead After Crash In River Forest: Police
Police and local authorities are working to identify the four victims in Sunday's fatal crash in River Forest.
RIVER FOREST, IL — Authorities are investigating after four people were killed in a crash Sunday in River Forest. According to a news release from the River Forest Police Department, police were called to the 400 block of Harlem Avenue around 12:45 a.m. Sunday for a crash with injuries. That's where a car with five passengers hit a planter, light pole and the wall of a closed business, police said, adding that two of the passengers were pronounced dead at the crash site.
According to the news release, two other passengers needed emergency medical care and were taken to a local hospital, and died. Police added that the person said to be driving the car was also taken to a local hospital for treatment.
The victims were transported to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office for inquiry, and police are working to identify the passengers, and notifying family members, the news release said.

The ages of the victims aren't known at this time, according to police.

According to the news release, members of the River Forest, Oak Park, and Forest Park police departments, and River Forest and Oak Park fire departments responded and help at the crash site, and also helped take the passengers to the hospitals. The West Suburban Major Crimes Task Force (WESTAF) Major Crash Team was called out to help with the crash investigation.
