Accused Armed Home Invaders Charged in Makeshift Recording Studio Robbery
Oak Park police arrested three Chicago men after a robbery Monday in an apartment on Lake Street.

Oak Park, IL - Three Chicago men who were arrested after a Monday night home invasion and robbery in an Oak Park apartment-turned-recording-studio have been charged in the crime.
Marliss Pelmer, 21 of the 12000 block of S. Perry Ave., Justin Harris, 18 of the 11800 block of S. Yale Ave., and Devonte Gosha, 20 of the 12000 block of S. Yale Ave, have each been charged with six counts of home invasion, six counts of aggravated kidnapping and one count of aggravated battery, according to the Village of Oak Park.

Oak Park police responding to a 911 call around 9:40 p.m. March 7 in the 800 block of Lake Street found two of the men suspected in the home invasion were still in the building, and one man was nearby.
The men were reportedly armed with handguns and wearing ski masks, according to the village. They went into an apartment on the top floor of the building, announced the robbery and demanded money.

Officials believe the apartment was being used as a makeshift recording studio, not licensed by the village. Six people were inside.
Three people told police the men hit them with handguns, and two people were treated for cuts and bruises on their heads, the village reported. Cash and jewelry were reportedly stolen before police arrived. Police found two handguns at the robbery scene.
Bail for each of the three arrestees has been set at $1 million, according to the village. They are being held in Cook County jail, and their next court date is set for 9 a.m. March 11 in Maywood.
