Archbishop Blase Cupich to Give Lecture at Dominican University

River Forest, IL - Archbishop Blase Cupich will give a lecture at 7 p.m. March 15 at the Dominican University Performing Arts Center in River Forest.

Cupich's lecture is titled "The Church as Field Hospital: Chicago’s Catholic Church in Action," and his visit is part of Dominican University’s St. Catherine of Siena Center Lecture series, Truth Serving Love: A Dominican Charism for the 21st Century.

A National Catholic Sisters Week exhibition honoring the work of religious women in the field will also be featured.

Tickets are available online for $10 each.

According to the Siena Center page,

The Church's mission is "...to carry forward the work of Christ under the lead of the befriending Spirit. And Christ entered this world to give witness to the truth, to rescue and not to sit in judgment, to serve and not to be served." [GS 3] This ancient vision of the Church, proclaimed by the Council Fathers in Gaudium et Spes, inspires us during this Year of Mercy to take up with fresh vigor the corporal works of mercy. Doing so in this age of skepticism and secularism will give people hope, awaken in them the beauty of life, and dispose them to the call of God, the love of Christ and the truth of the Gospel.
