Bags Of Cash Fall Out Of Brinks Vehicle, Prompting Dozens To Swarm Road And Steal: Police
When Brinks personnel returned to the area, 50-100 people were stealing money from the scene and fleeing, according to police.
OAK PARK, IL — Nearly $300,000 was stolen by dozens of people after bags of cash fell out of a Brinks vehicle last week in Oak Park, according to police.
A representative from Brinks told police the vehicle had been traveling southbound Tuesday in the 300 block of South Austin Boulevard when its back door “opened by unknown means” and the cash fell out, police said.
