Berwyn Man Caught with Drugs Worth More Than $200K

He was stopped for using a cell phone while driving.

A Berwyn man was arrested Oct. 15, and Chicago police found drugs valued at more than $200,000 in his car.

Louis Roy, 41 of the 1800 block of South Harlem Avenue, was stopped at about 5:15 p.m. for talking on his phone while sitting at a red light in the 1200 block of South Clinton, according to Chicago police.

Police report when Roy rolled down his window, they smelled a strong odor of cannabis coming from the car. Roy couldn’t give officers a driver’s license, and he was arrested.

A search of his car uncovered one kilogram of cocaine, 621 grams of heroin and 27 grams of cannabis, according to police.

Roy was charged with multiple drug violations, driving on a suspended license and driving while using a cell phone.
