Body Matching Missing Oak Park Woman's Description Found in Forest Park

Police found the body in a car registered to Alicia H. Yaus.

Forest Park police found a body at about 3:30 p.m. Dec. 2 matching the description Alicia H. Yaus, a 48-year-old Oak Park woman who has been missing since Nov. 28.

The missing person incident is now classified as a death investigation, according to the Village of Oak Park, and the Forest Park Police Department will conduct the investigation with the cooperation of Oak Park police.

A suspicious vehicle was reported to police, and the body was found in a parked car in a secluded area behind a building in an industrial area, near 15th Street and Circle Avenue.

Police verified the car as one registered to Yaus. The body has not yet been positively identified, the village reported.

Oak Park detectives have met with the Yaus family to inform them of the development, and the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office has been notified.

All questions about the death investigation will be directed to the Forest Park Police Department.

Yaus, of the 500 block of Forest Avenue, was reported missing Sunday morning by her family.

Oak Park Police Chief Rick C. Tanksley thanked the community and the media for their help searching for Yaus.

He also acknowledged the support of law enforcement agencies through the region that helped with the search.
